SUMMER POOL AND DAY CAMP PROGRAMS

The City will be offering its Summer Day Camp program again this year at the King City Recreation Center. The program is open to children ages 5 – 12. The cost is $75 per week and includes activities from The First Tee of Monterey County, swimming, arts and crafts and much more. Summer Day Camp starts on Monday, June 10th and runs through August 2nd.

The pools will open for the season on Saturday, June 8th and will offer recreation swim, lap swimming and water aerobics. They will be open daily for recreation swim from 1:00 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. Lap swimming is open Monday through Saturday from 12:00 noon – 12:45 p.m. and water aerobics is offered Monday through Friday at noon.

Swimming lessons will start on Tuesday, June 11 and are $50 per child for a two-week group session. There are four sessions: June 11th – June 21st, June 24th – July 5th, July 9th
– July 19th, and July 23rd – August 2nd. Sibling discounts are available. The City also offers semi-private and private lessons. Lessons are available for infants through advanced – all ages and abilities welcome. They will be at 11:00 a.m., Noon, 4:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Tuesday – Fridays. Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children ages 1 – 4, so make sure your child is water safe with swimming lessons.

Signups for summer swimming lessons and Day Camp will start Wednesday, May 22 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Rec Center. After May 22, they will take place at the pool office from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. For more information on recreation programs, call the Recreation Office at 385-6748.
