ORGANICS RECYCLING FREE KITCHEN PALES

The City of King, in partnership with Waste Management, Inc. and the Salinas Valley Waste Authority now offer an organics recycling program in compliance with new State regulations that took effect in January.  Everyone is instructed to place your food scraps in your green waste cart.  It will then be used to make compost and reduce landfill waste.  Do not include food packaging materials or raw meat.  To help you, the City will provide you a free kitchen pail to store the waste until you dispose of it in your greenwaste container for pickup. It will then be used to make compost and reduce landfill waste. The kitchen pales are available for the first 200 residents to pick up at City Hall, 212 S. Vanderhurst Avenue. You can dispose of almost all food scraps, but do not include food packaging materials or raw meat. Visit svswa.org/residential/foodscraps for more information.
