Renovation of the City of King Skate Park with all new ramps is now complete and reopened several weeks ahead of schedule.  The design was developed using an extensive public participation process to incorporate input from youth that regularly utilize the facility.  The new ramps are being funded by a $150,000 State grant.

The next step of the project will be to install six new solar powered lights to increase safety and usage during early evening hours.  The lights are being funded by King City Community Power (KCCP) and a donation by Pilot Power Group, the City’s operator of KCCP.  The light installation is scheduled to take place in mid-June.

Once complete, the City will host a formal Grand Reopening Ceremony on June 21st at 5:30 p.m.  This will coincide with International Skateboard Day.  It will feature a formal dedication, skateboarding demonstrations, prizes and other activities.
