Welcome to King City!
The City of King’s visitor center can be found in the King City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture office located in the heart of downtown at 200 Broadway, Suite 40. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. There you will find information on places to visit in Southern Monterey County, an ongoing list of current events, and brochures on many of the fine businesses and service providers in the community. Things To Do in King City
Numerous recreational facilities and areas can be found throughout the city and outlying areas. The King City Public Golf Course has a nine-hole course with driving range and clubhouse. The King City Park and Recreation Center has two swimming pools, a diving pool, a wading pool, a water slide, a playground with BBQ facilities, a recreation building and meeting room, three indoor racquetball courts, tennis courts and newly built San Antonio Community Park.
Parks & Recreation
The nearby San Lorenzo Regional Park provides hiking, camping and sports facilities. In addition, the park has an exhibit barn and main museum displaying historical scenes and antique farm equipment. Each Fourth of July, the park sponsors the Valley Heritage Day for local citizens and visitors. Other activities nearby include the San Antonio Mission , Soledad Mission, Fort Hunter Liggett Military Reserve, the Los Padres National Forest, Lake San Antonio, and Lake Nacimento. For wine enthusiast there are several wineries also located on the out skirts of the city. Events such as the Salinas Valley Fair and Valley Heritage Days are held annually and attract visitors to the area. Youth Organizations
Several youth organizations are available for young people to join and become involved with the community. Some of these organizations include the King City Recreation Department, which also offers adult programs as well, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, 4-H, Future Farmers of America, Police Explorers and a dance studio. There are also several American Red Cross and church youth programs available.
