The Human Resources Department coordinates the City’s overall personnel system, including recruitment and selection, salaries and benefits, orientation, training, performance evaluation, employee relations, discipline and risk management. The Department staff prepare classification and compensation studies, develop and administer personnel policies and regulations, and monitor and assist staff in complying with State and Federal personnel laws. The primary objective of the Human Resources Department is to recruit and maintain an effective workforce and to assist the City Manager in establishing a fair, safe, respectful, motivated and high quality work environment.
