The City of King’s processes are designed to ensure a high quality of development in the City, while at the same time being customer friendly and providing responsive service and assistance. Since King City is a small community, staff is able to work individually with applicants on a collaborative basis to assist in designing a successful project and to navigate through the process as quickly as possible. Applicants can apply and pay online for almost all permits through the Citizenserve system under Apply for a Permit, and one common application is used for most projects. The City’s Fee Schedule includes fees for all applications, including development impact fees. In addition to the City’s fees, new construction projects will be required to pay an impact fee to the school districts and the Transportation Agency for Monterey County.
