How do I report a noise complaint?
  • To submit a complaint regarding noise in your neighborhood, contact the non-emergency public safety dispatch line at (831)385-8311.  
  • No amplified noise is permitted in residential areas from 10:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.  
  • During daytime hours, noise volumes are limited to a maximum of 80 decibels.  When the Police Department receives a complaint, they will measure the noise level with a sound meter adjacent to the property where the noise is being generated to determine if a violation exists.
  • When violations occur, the Police Department will provide a written warning and request the violation be addressed. If repeated violations occur within the same year, a citation will be issued.
