April 1, 2020 is Census Day. Outreach efforts are under way to help reach and connect with all people living in Monterey County to participate in the Census. The Census is conducted every 10 years and the data is used to guide the distribution of funds for important programs, such as housing, health, transportation, education, energy assistance, etc. Therefore, it is critical that everyone in the community be counted in order to maximize funding to assist King City residents.

The Census is protected by Federal law. The US Census Bureau does not share a respondent’s personal information with other government agencies. All personalized information is sealed for 72 years and results are reported in statistical format only. When you fill out the census, you help determine how many seats your state gets in Congress, how much federal funding is distributed to your state and community, and you help create new jobs.

Census 2020 is also hiring staff with hourly pay of $20 to $22. You may apply online at or call 1-855-562-2020.
