The City is partnering with Sun Street Centers, the King City Union School District and the South Monterey County Joint Union High School District to offer a positive parenting program, which will implement another strategy identified in the City’s Comprehensive Plan to End Youth Violence. The training will be provided by Sun Street Centers and is called “Skills for Life.” It is free to all parents, grandparents, or anyone with children in their care.

The training program is designed to help parents provide their children the skills they need to make the right decisions. Sessions will be held throughout the year in English and Spanish. The first one will be in Spanish and will begin on Thursday, October 18th. It will be held at Chalone Peaks Middle School Library and classes will take place Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 for 4 weeks. To sign up or to get more information, please contact Sun Street Centers at 385-0100 and ask for the Prevention Department or visit their website at www.sunstreet.org.
