KING CITY SUMMER DAY CAMP WITH THE FIRST TEE OF MONTEREY COUNTY

The King City Recreation Department and The First Tee of Monterey County have partnered to offer “King City Summer Day Camp with The First Tee of Monterey County.” This program will be held in conjunction with the traditional Summer Day Camp program at the Recreation Center. Campers will check in at the Recreation Center beginning at 7:45 a.m. At 9:00, campers ages 7–12 will walk with Day Camp staff to the golf course for The First Tee program. Campers ages 5–6 years will stay at the Rec Center with the day camp staff and participate in park play, arts and crafts and games. The program will include not only golf, but by participating in The First Tee, young people will be introduced to these core values which are incorporated throughout the First Tee program. Parents are encouraged to reinforce these behaviors by talking about them, what they mean and what these behaviors can look like at home.

The campers will come back to the Recreation Center at 11:30 and walk to a local school for lunch. Campers can get the free lunch offered by the school, or can bring their own. At 1:00, campers will go to the pools until 4:00 p.m. Cost of the program is $75 per week for one child, with sibling discounts available. For more information, please call the Recreation Office at 385-6748.
