Monterey CountyMonterey County encompasses 3,300 square miles of picturesque coast line, lush forests, rich farms and vibrant communities. Located in the center of Monterey County, the Salinas Valley has often been coined as the "Salad Bowl to the Nation". This is largely due to the advantageous climate, fertile valley and large production of vegetable crops.

King City is located at the southern end of the Salinas Valley. Annual average temperatures range from 43 degrees to 74 degrees with a mean average of 59 degrees. In the winter, lows average 35 degrees and in the summer, highs average 85 degrees. In the summer, gusting afternoon winds are frequent. The area receives approximately 11.27 inches of rain per year with Winter months accounting for the majority of rainfall totals. Trace amounts of rainfall occur between April and October.
