In 1998, construction valuations totaled $6,560,381 with single family valuations havingtotaled $6,083,817 and industrial valuations having totaled $6,569,381.In 1998, 59 single-family permits were issued in the city, an increase of 20 permitsfrom 39 permits in 1997. Of the 59 permits issued, 27 permits were issued for the RoyalCoach Park and 31 permits were issued to CHISPA for affordable housing projects.

King City has an inventory of approximately100 acres of commercially zoned property. Approximately 50 acres is vacant and available for development. Commercial property is estimated to cost between $2.25 to $3 per square foot. Building space ranges from 1,000 - 15,000 square feet. Most space is located along Broadway Avenue. Rental rates are negotiable and generally range from$0.50to$0.80 per square foot per month.A total of approximately 210 acres are designated and zoned industrial. Approximately half the existing industrial inventory is uncommitted. Industrial land in King City is priced from $60,000 to $100,000 per acre.

Silva Property
Silva Property is a privately owned sixty acre business park. The park will be fully serviced, and offer lot sizes from one quarter acre. The land is zoned M-2, which permits a broader range of land use.

Airport Business Park
The Airport Business Park includes five acre parcel abutting King City Airport. The land is zoned M-2 and municipal services will be extended to the site. Development opportunities on the air-port property may also be discussed.
