Since incorporation in 1911, King City has been governed by a five-member City Council. The City provides a full range of services including public safety (police and fire), water treatment, recreational and cultural activities, public improvements, and planning, zoning and general administrative services.

King City is implementing an ambitious economic development strategy. A top priority is facilitating new business and expediting all required approvals. A variety of programs and business counseling services are available to assist new business. Business planning and marketing are some examples. Businesses are encouraged to discuss their plans with City staff to better understand the City’s requirements and to identify areas where the City can help new businesses prosper.
