Everyone is invited to volunteer for the next trash pick-up event with King City In Bloom on Saturday, November 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Workers will meet in the Mildred Street parking lot at King City High School. Free pastries and coffee are provided. Kids and adults of all ages participate and are welcome. It is a great way to beautify the community, while making friends and having fun.

Waste Management, the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority, and the City of King will also be sponsoring a recycling event at the same parking lot. Residents can dispose of large items and household hazardous
waste at no cost. They will accept mattresses, appliances (no Freon), electronic waste, metals, furniture and tires (limited to 2 per person). Household hazardous waste includes anti-freeze, batteries, motor oil, latex paint, and toxic gardening and household supplies. The event begins at 8:00 a.m. and will continue until the bins are full. Clean your home and neighborhood while protecting the environment.
