Everyone is invited to participate in King City’s first “Ciclovia” Open Streets event by walking, running or biking through the downtown area on Sunday, April 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Broadway Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from First Street to Mildred Avenue, as well as the blocks surrounding the Town Square, to promote physical activity and active modes of transportation. The route will also have resource booths and fun activities along the way to provide entertainment, food, opportunities to learn about community resources, and to connect with neighbors.
This family event is sponsored by the Monterey County Health Department in partnership with the City of King and is funded from a California Active Transportation Grant. It is part of an overall program called Via Salinas Valley: Pathways to Health through Active Transportation, which is a collaborative regional effort to improve health, access and safety in the Salinas Valley. Other activities include youth education activities, increased traffic safety enforcement, and public improvements.
If you are interested in volunteering, sponsoring, or having a table or booth at the event, please contact email@example.com for more information.
