Beautification week is June 24th to July 2nd. Everyone is encouraged to get involved in community clean-up efforts or beautification projects at your own home. Choose among a number of options – sweep sidewalks, wash windows, paint buildings and trim, mow your lawn, pull weeds, trim shrubs, or plant flowers.
The Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a Citywide Garage and Sidewalk Sale on June 23rd through June 25th. City requirements for garage sale permits are waived during this time. Therefore, it is a great time to clean out your house and to attract more people to your garage sale by joining efforts with others in the community.
During that week, Waste Management will be offering extra trash pick-up on your regular pick-up day. On Saturday, July 1st, a recycling event will take place at King City High School in the Mildred parking lot. Dispose of your old mattresses, appliances (no Freon), yard waste, electronic waste, metals, furniture, tires, paints and household hazardous at no cost.
On Saturday, July 1st, there will also be a community litter clean-up from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. It is a great way to meet neighbors and pitch in to help beautify King City. Meet at the King City High School Mildred Parking lot at 8:00 a.m. for coffee, water and donuts beforehand.
